Under Her Wings – Tel Aviv

A special collaboration between two of the most prominent performing groups in the young Baroque scene in Israel. The Jerusalem Vocal Consort specializes in the performance of polyphonic vocal music from the Baroque and Renaissance periods, and the Nari Baroque Ensemble specializes in historical instrumental music and a dramatic-narrative approach to chamber music. Together they will present the story of the Book of Esther, as dramatized and composed by Giacomo Carissimi in mid-17th century Rome. As in the original performance of the oratorio in Rome, it will be performed with motets and psalm verses by other composers: Heinrich Schütz, Henry Du-Mont and Michel Richard de Leland.
